Sydney Harbor has often been referred to as one of the most beautiful harbors in the world. It contains many of the world's most recognizable landmarks, such as the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbor Bridge, and The Rocks. Its shoreline stretches across more that 149 miles and encompasses over 20 square miles of water. Many tourists come from all over the world to enjoy what the harbor has to offer. From fine dining, to shopping, to sailing on the water, the harbor has something for everyone. Amidst the many attractions there is a great history waiting to be discovered. In particular, Sydney Cove is an area of great historical significance.
